About the Team: The Boston Aztec women's team (WPSL) is a minor league affiliate for the Boston Breakers (WPS), while the Boston Aztec U23's will also compete in the WPSL starting in 2010 and be comprised entirely of college players. New England Aztec is the managing organization of Boston Aztec. New England Aztec is a premier soccer development organization with boy's and girl's youth teams from U11-U18. The organization also runs the U8/U10 Academy Premier League and various other programs for players of all ages based out of Soccer ETC in Beverly, MA. About the Coaching: HEAD COACH: Dushawne "Doc" Simpson
Simpson is also the Girls Technical Director for the New England Aztec youth program. He was an All-Star player at Southern Connecticut University and Salem St. College before playing professionally in the USL with the NH Phantoms and the A-League's Connecticut Wolves and Boston Bulldogs. He also played with and coached the Boston Aztec PASL indoor team. In the most competitive amateur indoor soccer league in the country, he led the team to three consecutive PASL New England Regional titles and one PASL National Championship From 2005-08, he was head coach of the Boston Aztec WPSL women's team, which is now the Breakers reserve. He was co-coach of the Aztec U23 women's team that won the local EMWSL title in 2009, and the team is now taking the step into the WPSL for 2010.
Type of Players: The Boston Aztec U23 WPSL team is comprised entirely of college players. The roster is comprised of players with the desire and drive to excel in their college season and potential play at a higher level after graduation. Top players from across the country and the Boston area are considered.
