About the Team: About the Coaching: | HEAD COACH - Ted Copeland In the UK Ted was The Football Association's Regional Director of Coaching for the North of England from 1990 until 1998.
From 1993 until 1998 a major part of Ted's job was as England Women's National Team Coach where was instrumental in the development of the Women's game at all levels and took the England Women's Team to the U.E.F.A. Cup Semi-Finals in 1995, the Quarter Finals of the Women's World Cup in Sweden in 1995 and qualified for the Atlanta Olympics in 1996.
His work with the F.A. took him to the Middle East, Asia, Africa and the Caribbean where he delivered courses to Federation Coaches on Coach Education and Player Development. He was also a senior staff member of the F.A. developing and delivering the full range of F.A. Coach Education Courses throughout England and at the F.A. National Centre, Lilleshall, Shropshire.
Ted also coached in the English Football League with Hartlepool United F. C. where he was First Team Coach.
He also spent 12 years in Saudi Arabia when he was a Lecturer in Physical Education at the University of Petroleum and Minerals in Dhahran. During this time he played and coached in the Saudi Premier League with Al Etifag in Dammam, was a consultant to the Saudi Football Federation advising on Youth Development and coached the Saudi U16 and U19 National Teams.
More recently he was Director of Sport at East Durham College in the North East of England where, in association with a number of National Governing Bodies of Sport, he established National Sports Academies in Soccer, Basketball, Boxing, Rugby, Judo, Modern Pentathlon and Rowing, for elite performers aged 16-18. This proved to be an enormous success, providing the opportunity for young people to reach their full potential in both sport and education.
Prior to moving to Spain Ted was Director of Educational Services for Navigator, a global sports marketing company, working with Governments and Sports Organisations in Europe and Asia. ASSISTANT COACH - Tarik Guendouzi Tarik Guendouzi, a native of Wales, holds a National C-level coaching license. He's also the Girls Varsity coach at Fort Worth Country Day High School and is a state coach and scout for the Olympic Development Program (ODP) in Texas. A team captain, Taz played for and earned his Bachelor of Science degree at Wingate University, where his teams finished 8th (1999) and 23rd (2002) in the Nation. Other playing experience includes professional teams Carolina Dynamo (D3) and the DFW Tornados of the Premier Development League, where he plays midfield. PLAYER/COACH - Emma Wright Emma Wright comes to Fort Worth FC after serving as the assistant coach at Southeastern Louisiana University (D1) in 2006-2007 and 2007-2008 where she helped team advanced to the semi-finals in the conference tournament in both seasons.
A native of Manchester, England, Wright spent the 2004-2005 and 2005-2006 seasons at Christian Brothers University (D2) as an assistant coach in Memphis, TN.
During her two assistant roles her duties included planning team and individual practice sessions, conducting conditioning sessions, arranging travel and overseeing player's classroom development. Wright also brings club experience with her having coached several teams in both the U.S. and her native England. Her recent clubs include Mandeville Lakers, LA and Collierville Lobo's, TN.
Wright played collegiate soccer at both Central Connecticut State and Slippery Rock University. She played for three seasons at CCSU where she helped the team to its first-ever appearance in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The Blue Devils had a 1-0 first round win over Boston College and took Connecticut to double-overtime before bowing out to the Huskies 3-2.
Wright was a three-year letter winner with Blue Devils where she was a First-Team All-Northeast Conference selection. She scored nine goals and added eight assists in her three years at CCSU for 26 points. She was the Central Connecticut Sportswriters Player of the Year helping the team win two NEC Titles.
Wright transferred to Slippery Rock her senior year where she was an immediate impact, scoring seven goals and assisting on seven others for 21 points and an All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference selection. She helped SRU to the PSAC West Title in 2004.
Wright graduated from Central Connecticut in May of 2005 with a bachelor's degree in art specializing in graphic design. She completed her master's degree in education at Christian Brother University.
During the 2006 season Wright competed in the Icelandic Professional league for KR before suffering an ACL, LCL and meniscus tear.
Before arriving in the USA, Wright played in the premiership for both Doncaster Belles and Everton who won the English premiership title. She was also a member of the National Women's Football Academy from 1998-2000 who were undefeated for her two years there coached by Ted Copeland, former National Team Coach. Wright also had England National team u18's trials 1998. MANAGER - Kristin Bell Kristin Bell joins the Fort Worth Panther team in 2010 as the team manager. She is someone who has a great personality, very organized and will do a fantastic job for us this season. Kristin joined us after she fulfilled managerial duties for coach Wrights Fort Worth F.C. 2000's team where her daughter, Shelby Bell plays...Kristin will have her hands full this summer for sure but is no stranger to challenges. Her husband Jeff and Chase form the family of four Bells. We are very lucky to have her be part of our team.
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR - Jim Harris Jim Harris has a USSF 'C' license. He is the Fort Worth FC Coaching Director and a North Texas State Staff Coach and Instructor. He is a former FWYSA Board Member and FWYSA Director of Player and Coaching Development. He is an active member of the US Soccer Coaches Organization and has coached at the club level for 6 years. He was one of the first FWFC coaches. |
Type of Players: The team members will be comprised of high school senior women who are looking to improve their skills before heading to the collegiate ranks, current college players who want to better themselves before heading into the season, and highly skilled players who still wish to compete at a high level.
