About the Team: About the Coaching: Elio Bello, Head Coach
Born and raised in Napoli, Italy, Head Coach Elio Bello brings over 25 years of professional player and coaching experience to the team, including earning honor of 2007 Coach of the Year in the USL. As a former championship soccer player in San Diego and Europe, Bello knows what it takes it takes to play and win at the highest level. He has a strong reputation as a player's coach and understands the training, travel and performance responsibilites of the professional soccer athlete. In 2007 Bello coached a roster of stars including Mexican icon Maribel Dominguez. The 2008 season roster included Leigh Ann Robinson and Brittany Cameron, both players now with the WPS Bello is excited to coach in the WPSL with a roster of top players from around the country. Bello will lead SD United into the 2009 summer season with the goal of entertaining the fans with good sportsmanship, class and victory.
