Sunday, April 27th, the California Storm displayed a bit of what this season to come may bring- a CHAMPIONSHIP. At the CAL 7v7 Tournament, the Storm rebounded from an early loss to Stanford with wins against San Jose State, Saint Mary's College, Sacramento State and University of Pacific. Each win showcased the talent of each individual through team triumph. Storm veterans Sissi and Kim Yokers led the team in goals, while Maureen Whitney, Katie Ratican, Julia Schnugg, Tracey Hamm also played well. The goal was protected by Storm veteran Brittany Gillespie, who did an excellent job of keeping the balls out of the net. There were a handful of Storm new-comers in Juli Edwards, Hillary Schwarzbach, Nikol Molano, Amanda Reyes, and Katie Burton, who played hard showing they melded well with the team and helped the Storm to their first Championship of the spring.
