LOS ANGELES F.C. CHELSEA TO JOIN WPSL
New Pacific-South Division team will be based out of Pasadena-area
PASADENA, CA (02/06/10) - Los Angeles F.C. Chelsea is the newest member team in the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL), and are hoping their inaugural season in the Pacific-South Division will come up nothing but roses. The Pasadena-based club will play their home games at La Canada High School in La Canada, CA and already have an experienced WPSL mentor to lead the troops this Summer 2010 season.
Emamuel "Manny" Martins has been hired as Head Coach for LAFC Chelsea, coming off his 2-year stint as leader of the now-disbanded WPSL Los Angeles Rampage - who finished fourth with a 7-5-2 record in the very competitive Pacific-South Division last season. With the Rampage, Martins had three players honored with All-Pacific Conference accolades....

There will be new royalty in the "Queen City" this upcoming Summer 2010 season
CINCINNATI, OH (01/29/10) - The "Queen City" will be home to a new sports franchise this summer, as Classics Hammer F.C. will be part of the Midwest Conference of the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL). CHFC has entered the league to continue with it's long & proud history of developing players and providing them with every opportunity to play at every possible level, and will be the only club in the Cincinnati-area representing this prestigious league.
Buck Lally - the current Men's Director of Coaching for Classics Hammer F.C. - has been named their Head Coach for their inaugural season, while former Santa Clara star Tiffany Roberts will serve as his assistant, alongside her duties as Media Relations Director for the WPSL team. The team's home venue will be at the Xavier University Soccer Complex (70 x 115 FieldTurf pitch), providing a first-class facility for both fans & players alike....

Defending USYSA National Champion organization joins the ever-expanding conference
LIBERTYVILLE, IL (01/27/10) - Out of the story-lines heading up to the 2010 season in the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL), the expansion of the Midwest Conference can be considered the most important of all. Not just quantity but quality, as the Eclipse Select Soccer Association - a defending United States Youth Soccer Association (USYSA) National Champion organization based out of Libertyville, IL - will be added to the Midwest line-up this summer.
Chicago Eclipse Select is now expanding with the addition of this WPSL team, as the club has been primarily focused on the development of youth players. That foundation is a strong base to build from, which this season will be the responsibility of Head Coach Rory Dames & his coaching staff of Mike Nesci and General Manager Scott Fonfara....

PHILADELPHIA, PA (01/15/10) - In today's Women's Professional Soccer (WPS) Draft held at the Philadelphia Convention Center, over 20 current & former standouts from the member teams of the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL) were selected. But more than that, dreams of one day playing in the professional ranks alongside the best in the world are now within their fingertips - or soccer boots, in this case.
2009 All-WPSL selection & high-scoring forward Kiersten Dallstream was selected with the 9th pick of the First Round by the Los Angeles Sol. Former SoccerPlus CT Reds goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher (pictured above with WPS Commissioner Tonya Antonucci) was drafted by the Boston Breakers two picks later to finish off the First Round....
